about

Fissura is a composition born of an image.
Imagine cracks slowly creeping and spreading through a wall. As they grow deeper and wider over time they begin to reveal a different plane, one that was previously hidden within the wall. The deeper these fissures grow, the more they affect and disrupt the structure of the wall. This disruption can be violent and intense, like a volcanic fissure that slashes open the earth, or discreet, like mild static interference on the radio. Once translated into music, these fissures become the visceral and uncontrolled elements that contrast the more structured and conventional musical material.
